Sewing, sewing, sewing

Oh no, I have not popped in here for a few days now, sorry about that.  This very busy housewife and mom just made her days hectic by sewing at least three or four items in one day.  Of course, you must wonder how I start my day.  Whether I hit the bed early or late which nowadays is mostly the latter, I still manage to wake up at 6 am, not that I impose that on myself but because it's how I'm wired.  Well, with two children who yell mommy every second and a husband who works weekdays away, I don't know how I get it all together and still love to sew, but I do.  Well, so much with my monologue.  I would love to show you a new range of dresses I made today.  www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.440245139379323.97367.236973263039846&type=1

I love Khaki the moment my mom bought me khaki shorts many years ago and so when I visited the fabric store last weekend,  I could not resist to buy fabric of this color.  I intended to buy the linen-cotton fabric but they were way expensive, so I opted for broadcloth, which I believe did not make much difference, quality wise as they were 100 percent cotton too, you can correct me if I am wrong here though.   I read through from an article on the internet to pre-wash and iron before sewing , because they are quite wrinkly and could shrink if not pre-washed.  Well, I just loved it, I made three kinds, a peasant dress- which I think you can notice from the pic that the sleeves were much  larger, I have to work on that.  The next one is a pillow case dress- which is relatively easy and with a lot of tutorials about it on the internet I'm sure you have already made tons out of this kind .  The third one is really my favorite because I labored on it.  I originally wanted it to have sleeves but I am so poor on drawing the perfect sleeve, I just scrapped it - made it sleeveless, which my husband thought so too.  And it turned out lovely, with the blue fabric belt that I just casually tied into ribbons behind and the lovely accent of the blue button.

I am planning on making a pattern for this, a first time for me.  I'll try mightily hard to finish it, I hope .  Sigh.

Well, tell me about your week guys, I hope you have a lovely one.  Happy Valentines-it's near the bend!
